what is a salvage title
A salvage title is a title brand that identifies vehicles that have sustained major damages or have been deemed a total loss. Salvaged vehicles can be rebuilt and inspected to be re-registered.
If your car or truck is in an accident and the cost of repairing the vehicle is a deemed to high compared to the value of the vehicle, your car insurance company will decide not to pay to have it repaired declaring it a total loss.
Your insurance company will then take possession of the car or truck. In some cases, the vehicle gets sold to a repair facility and the vehicle is fixed or rebuilt. The new title that gets issued on the vehicle is called a salvage title. It has the words salvage located in a prominent position on the front of the title.
